My First Paper!

This is the paper we did at nursery. Notice that it isn't colored? Well, when the other kids where coloring their pictures, I was helping clean up. I was having too much fun cleaning that I never got around to coloring my picture. My nursery leaders gave it to me to color at home.

Well, Mom hung it on the fridge. She is a little sentimental about it because it is the first paper that was ever sent home. She says she is starting to feel old to have a kid bringing home papers. Mom is going to make me color it for homework. Am I too young for homework?

Toddler Time

Mom and I are taking a toddler time class. We get together with other little people and learn skills. Today's skill was using a paintbrush. I had to dip the brush into the cup and get glue. Then I blobbed it on the paper. Mom helped me put the cotton balls on the make a lamb. I thought that painting with glue was so much fun that I continued to paint all over the paper even after the lamb was done.

My picture is now hanging on the fridge at home. Mom and Dad are so proud.

Then we got to play with clay. It took Mom awhile to convince me not to eat it.

Sometimes the other kids and I get distracted and forget what we are supposed to be doing. For instance, here I am in the shelf when I am supposed to be making an animal out of clay.

We read stories and sing songs at Toddler Time. It is hard to sit still, but I am learning.

I Love to See the Temple

I love to see the temples! I can pick them out really well now. We have a few pictures in our house, and I like to look at them and sign temple. I am doing the sign here.

When we left, I waved good-bye to Moroni. It must get lonely up there all day.

Labor Day

I was worried when Dad said he was staying home from work because it was Labor Day. I thought for sure I would be scrubbing the kitchen floor and doing other chores all day. Luckily I was wrong! We got to rest from our labors and go swimming at the outside pool.

We packed a picnic. However, I was only interested in the grapes. I made sure that I held the container and got them all to myself. I think I ate all but a few!

Mom, Dad, and I had a splashing good time!

Visiting with Grandparents

After we went to Promontory Point, the Laraway family went to Maddox, which is in Brigham City, for lunch. Well, Mom and Dad knew that wasn't going to be the best idea for me. I don't hold still very long and get really grumpy at restaurants. So, luckily Grandma and Grandpa were in the area. They came and got me and took me to McDonald's. It was the coolest McDonald's ever!


Then we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's for an hour. They bought a kid wheelbarrow so I could help Grandpa out around the yard.

I was put straight to work. I had to water the dry patches of grass.

This is taken after Grandpa made the water spray in my face. Silly Grandpa!

I filled up my wheelbarrow to make sure I got all the dry spots.

Mom didn't bring a change of clothes, so while mine were drying I wore this around. Overall, it was a fun day!

Golden Spike Historical Site

Today the Laraway clan stepped back in time, May 10, 1869 to be exact. We participated in the reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Point.
Those steam engines sure were noisy. I scared me at first, but then I liked it when they blew their whistles.

We sat listening to the people do the reenactment. . . .

. . . but after awhile, Claire and I thought it would be more fun to play with the rocks.

New Car!!

Mom did it! She found a great bargain on a car I wanted! Someone was selling one by Grandma, so she went and got it for me. Then, things got even better because she brought it down to me today! Grandma and a new car, all in the same day. What a lucky kid!

Here Hollie is asking for a ride. . . or is she asking for my cookie?

I kept clapping and saying "yeah" because I got a new car. You should have seen how excited I was! I don't want to spend a second away from it. I think I will sleep in it tonight.

Or maybe I will sleep on the train blanket that Grandma made me. I love it! Isn't it cute!?

Grandma, Mom and Great Grandma Norma went to see Great Great Grandma Hull. I pushed Grandma Norma around the place today.

Hiking with Dad

Dad took Aspen and me on a hike. Well, he didn't pack my water shoes, so I had to make due with my tennis shoes. Aspen and I had a great time running in the water and getting all wet. Dad put me on his shoulders to carry me back, so he got all wet too!

Counsin's Swing Set

My cousins got a new swing set. Let me tell you, it is awesome!! I got to go to their house for dinner, and then we got to play.

Claire and I are starting to be good friends. We ate dinner together.

My cousins have all the best toys.

Doggie Swim

Saturday was the annual Doggie Swim at the Fitness Center. I was taking a nap at the time, but Aspen said she had tons of fun. She started by doing a few laps around the pool.

She wasn't sure if she wanted to go down the waterslide. . . .

. . . but after awhile she decided it looked like fun and gave it a whirl.

Aspen had a great time and was excited when she saw her friend Oakley from down the street there.

Fish

Auntie Jillian and Unclie Brady bought me two fish! I love them! I like to watch them swim around and around. When Mom and Dad asked what I was going to name them, I told them Goally Goally and Ah Ah.

Bike Trailer

Oh yeah. Mom is a good bargain hunter. She found this nice bike trailer for a ridiculously low price. Dad and I love it! We get to wear fun "hats" when we use it. Faster Daddy!

Nursery

Yesterday was my first day going to nursery. All morning I prepped Mom for what it would be like so she would be prepared, but it didn't really help when the time came. So there we are, standing at the nursery door:

Me: Bye Mom. You be brave. I will come and get you after I am done playing toys.

Mom: You know, you are just a baby. You don't have to go if you don't want to.

Me: Mom we went over this, I am a big boy now.

Mom: I could go with you if you want.

Me: Mom, you will be ok, I will come and get you in awhile.

The conversation went on like that until I realized there was no reasoning with the woman. I ended up just having to hurry inside and leave her out in the hall by herself. I am sure she was okay. They say that the parents only cry for a few minutes and then they get distracted and are fine. Mom is brave, but I understand this is a big change for her being alone.

Happy 93rd Birthday!

Great Great Grandma Hull turned 93 years old today. I took her some candy as a present, and then helped her eat it. Did you know that Grandma has seen more years than I have seen weeks?

How many pieces of candy can you fit in your mouth?

Grandma is even offering me candy while she is supposed to be getting her picture taken!

This is Great Grandma Norma. I think she was trying to make me laugh. Well, it will make us all laugh now.

Breakfast with G.F.A. Janet

Great Favorite Aunt Janet invited Mommy and me for breakfast at her hotel. She was in Utah helping Mary move into her apartment for college. When Mommy walked into the Hilton, she almost turned around and left. She said it was too fancy of a place to take a toddler who recently has been throwing enormous tantrums. I sat Mom down and promised that I would behave. Mom agreed and said I had one chance, and that was all. I put on my "angel" face and we proceeded to breakfast.

I was so good during the whole hour long breakfast. I sat in between Mom and Janet and held intelligent conversation with the two of them. (Mom kept giving me side-ways glances to see if it was really me since I was being well behaved.)

The waitress and cook thought I was pretty cute. I was really interested in the cook's hat and he ended up bringing me out my own!
