Pneumonia Week Two

I get to spend this week at Grandma's too because Mom is still home really sick. She went to the doctor's on Monday, and they are keeping her on oxygen because her oxygen levels in her blood are still really low. Mom sleeps most of the day. She is sooooo tired. I, on the other hand, have tons of energy and am wearing Grandma out. Here are some cell phone pictures Grandma has sent Mommy.
Papa bought me a watermelon because he knows how much I love them!

I love Lydia. Grandma says that I talk jibberish at her in baby talk.

Best thing about Grandma's is that I get to go to town and have lunch with my aunties.

Snowing today. Can't go out and play.

The horses got shoes put on. (Horses. Shoes. Silly!) I wanted my own carrot.

Staying at Grandma's and Papa's

As you know, Mom is really, really sick. She can't take care of me right now. She misses me a lot, and is having a hard time with me being gone..... However, she is glad that I am having so much fun at Grandma and Papa's. Here are some things I have been up to while there......
Helping Papa in the yard.

Going to parks and playing.

Making pancakes for Grandma for breakfast.
Making bread.

Most importantly, I help Grandma babysit Lydia. We sit and watch Elmo together.

We even do tummy time together.... so does Hollie.

Thanks for watching me Grandma and Papa! I am having so much fun! You guys are lifesavers!

Pneumonia

On Saturday, April 17th, Mom started to feel pretty lousy. By Sunday she was sick. Her temperature was out of control. Grandpa Steve came and watched me while Dad took Mom to the insta-care.

-

At the insta-care they x-rayed her lungs. She had pneumonia in the bottom of her left lung. They gave her some anti-biotics and sent her home.

-

Sunday night was horrible for her. She couldn't get her temperature below 104.

-

On Monday she couldn't stop throwing up and coughing up blood. She had us take her to the emergency room this time. (I was really worried. I kept asking her if she was ok. She threw up the whole way to the hospital. I cried and cried. What was happening to Mommy?)

-

Her temperature was so high, and her blood pressure so low that they instantly admitted her. I was out of control with worry, so Daddy took me home.

-

They started Mom on an IV and did more x-rays. This time the pneumonia was in the entire left lung and part of the right. After awhile, a technician came and got her for a CAT scan. Mom didn't know why they were doing a CAT scan. She didn't feel well and didn't ask many questions. The technician didn't say much. The only thing he asked Mom was if she had ever had cancer before. That scared Mommy. She thought they thought she had cancer.

-

After the CAT scan they put her back in her room. She was all alone for about an hour. She hadn't heard from any of the doctors. She kept thinking about having cancer and what that would mean. Mommy was scared and very sad. She turned on Elmo on the TV to make her feel better.

-

After awhile Dad brought me back. Grandma and Papa were there at the hospital to get me. I was excited to get out of there. (Thanks Grandma and Papa!!)

-

After awhile, a team of doctors came in. They told Mommy the CAT scan was just to look for blood clots. Phew. They also said Mom's pneumonia was horrible. If she wasn't as young as she is, they would have put her in the ICU.

-

They sent her up to the 9th floor (cancer floor, ironic enough) and started more IV's. Mom was in a ton of pain. At one point she couldn't breath. That sent Dad flying out of the room for doctors. They had to give her quite a bit of pain medication. She had a great nurse that night that came tons to help her out. Daddy spent the night.

Here is Mommy's bed.
This is where Daddy slept.

Daddy had to go to work, and I was at Grandma's, so that left Mommy all alone. She really appreciated everyone that dropped by to say hi.

-

Mommy was in the hospital for three days. They finally agreed to send her home if she wore oxygen. Mom just wanted out of there so she agreed.

This makes her oxygen. It hooks to a tube she puts in her nose.

Add Image This is her portable oxygen tank.... but she doesn't think she is going out much.

-

Mom is glad to be home. She still doesn't feel well at all. They say it could take a few weeks for her to feel better, and a few months to be back to normal.

Ruptured Eardrum

Last Friday started our goal to meet our medical deductable. I contributed by getting an ear infection that ended up rupturing. Nasty huh.

Babysitting and Construction

Grandma, Papa, and Lydia came to my house. Papa had to go to work, so I stayed with Grandma and Mom to watch Lydia. I sang her songs to make her smile: Elmo and Train.
I think she had fun watching me.

Then we played in my crib after nap time.

Once Papa got back from work, it was time to get some projects done around the house. First, leaky faucet, soon to be geyser. After a lot of towels, we got the job done.

Next.... we hung a heavy picture. Then it was time to work in the yard. Papa bought me a truck and tractor to help with the task.

Papa thought I did such a great job that I got to put Flexco stickers on my hat.

Thanks for helping me get things done Papa!

Spring at Temple Square

Today I took Mommy and Daddy to Temple Square to do a photo shoot. Bare with me, there are a lot of pictures. But I use this blog as a scrapbook too.
I got my tripod and self-timer ready, and started snapping pictures.

There were ducks in the reflection pond!

The wind started to blow. That is why my hair is sticking up.
