Sick... Again....

I have been a pretty grouchy bug lately. I have two, maybe three, teeth coming in. (The reason I don't know for sure is that I bite anyone that ventures close enough.) And... to make matters even worse, I have infections in both ears and a sore throat! Gosh, do you feel bad for me yet? I have decided to stop eating and sleeping to show my displeasure at the situation. If I am going to be miserable, so is Mom.

So I went to Dr. Templeman's to get checked out. Grandma came as back up. I knew the doctor was going to check out my throat, so I thought I would show Birdie what he was going to do. I didn't want Birdie to be scared when it was his turn.

Horses

After we went to Cabella's we thought we would go see the animals at Thanksgiving Point. But, as you can tell by the way Mom dressed me, it was way too cold. So we just said hi to this nice horsey and left.

Cabella's

I hope that Spring comes soon, because Mom and Dad are running out of ideas to do with a one year old that can't walk, and when it is cold outside. But so far they have been pretty creative. Today we went to Cabella's to see the fish. They know how much I enjoy the fish at Dr. Templeman's, and thought I would like these too.
They were right. These fish were awesome! And HUGE! I could have watched them for hours!

Auntie Jillian is staying at our house during her Spring Break. I got to babysit her and her friend Brady last night. I took them to Burger King. They were so well behaved and ate their food all gone, so I invited them to come to Cabella's too.

There were other animals at Cabella's besides fish. Here Jiggy is trying to decide who is the bigger stinker, me or the skunk. (Mom thinks I am.)

Ahhh! She is trying to feed me to that bear!

I get to go camping this summer, so I was trying out some gear.

After awhile we needed to sit and rest. Luckily this moose let us sit on his lap.

Aspen's Cat

Hollie gave Aspen a kitty cat. Let me tell you, Aspen loves this cat. She takes it everywhere she goes!
-
Aspen takes naps by the kitty.

She even helps the kitty look out the window.

She Likes My Truck

Since I got a haircut, I thought I would invite Reese over to see what she thought. She thought I was pretty good looking. That put me in a good mood, so I decided to privilege her with a ride on my truck. Since I really like her, I let her drive. Then I thought I would be a gentleman and push her around on it. She would sit on the truck, and I would walk behind pushing it.
-
Look at her look at me. She totally digs me! I didn't even mind when our moms made us kiss each other goodbye.

Haircut

Well it was time for me to get another haircut. Here I am in the morning . . .

and here I am after! Pretty handsome huh? McKel had to cut a couple of inches off. She used the trimmer this time. I liked how it buzzed.

The best part of getting a haircut is that I get to have lunch with Daddy afterwards. It was a nice day, so we had lunch in the park. Since Daddy ate his lunch really well, I played on the playground with him.

Trips

Daddy went on a yurt trip with Grandpa Steve, Uncle Andy, and Aspen. Dad said I was still too little to go hiking. I tried to convince him that I am a big boy now and that I could handle it. But he said no. So, I decided to go on a trip . . . to Grandma's! Of course I had to take Mommy along because Aspen wouldn't be home to tend her.
I had a fun time at Grandma's. We went to a store where we got to play with a train set. I think I might start saving my allowance so I can get one.

Yipee! Another Party!

Yesterday I got another birthday party. This one was at Mimi's house. Mom says that this is my last birthday party until I am two though. Rats!
-
But guess what? Daddy blew out my candle! I practice and practice blowing and he is the one that blows it out.
Mimi gave me Little People Noah's Ark. And since I will know all about animals from playing with it, she got me a year's pass to the zoo! Isn't that great!?

Comparing

Here I am a year ago.
Here I am now. I got so big!

Birthday Lunch with Grandma

Grandma came to play with me today because it is my 1st birthday. I am too sick to go to play group, so she came down. Grandma knows just how to make a person feel better. She took me to lunch and gave me some Diet Coke. Thanks Grandma!
It looks like I am saving some in my cheeks for later.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Birthday Package from Tennessee!

I got the mail today and there was a birthday package from my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Matthew. Inside there was a Cubs hat that fits me perfectly! There was also a note. I wanted to share the note with you. It says:
-
Nathan,
You are growing up. You are becoming a man. You may think, "I am young. The decisions I make now can't possibly influence the rest of my life." You are wrong. It is time to make "big boy" decisions. I am here to help you with the biggest, and easiest of these: Which team should I support? The answer is clear. Those who are wise wear the "C" on their brow.
-
Now there may be some who mock your choice. You will hear words like "cursed," "100 years," and "lovable losers." These people are fools, and quite possibly Dodger fans, for they are synonymous. When that happens just smile and feel pity for those that will never know what it means to be a true fan of a true team.
-
You must wear the hat wherever you go, except to church (but make a fuss about not being able to wear it to church). Use the hat to guide you in all things, making sure the brim is always rounded, never bent or straight. Go forward with pride!
Happy Birthday Cubbie!

Baby Torture!

Saturday night we came home from Grandma's house. Mom noticed that I was running a fever. She had thought all weekend that I was just warm because I am getting my front top teeth. When they took my temperature (in my bum!) it was at 105! Mom and Dad rushed me to insta-care. There, the torture began!
First the doctor sucked out my nose. She put a tube all the way in it. I thought she was going to suck out my brains! Then the nurse came and took my blood. Mom was ticked by the end of it because the nurse couldn't find the vein and just kept moving the needle around in my arm. Mom understands how much that hurts.
-
Then they took a chest x-ray. The nurse wouldn't even let Mom go in the x-ray room because she said it was a baby torture room. Dad took me in. He had a really hard time. He described the baby x-ray machine as a medieval torture device. Mom and Dad said that it was just as hard on them to see all that mean stuff done to me, but I don't agree.
-
After awhile the doctor told Mom and Dad that my white blood count was up, showing that I was fighting some type of virus or infection. She said they would get the results in the morning and to come back. So at 11:00 pm we headed home. When we went back in the morning they swabbed my throat, but the test results were still not in.
-
For the rest of Sunday I was pretty sick. Grandma says that I am just faking so I don't have to go to church. But that isn't true Grandma.
-
Mom tried and tried to call to get the results, but the insta-care place wasn't calling her back. Mom was mad. Finally she insisted on talking to a nurse and the nurse just said I had a virus and didn't explain anything else. Mommy was not a happy mommy, so I steared clear for awhile.
-
So on Monday I had to go see Dr. Templeman so he could help us. He went over the test results. He is a good doctor. I have the Adno Virus. I call it the "And no" virus.
-
And no... I don't want to sleep
And no . . . I don't want to eat
And no . . . I don't want to be happy
-
Basically the Adno Virus makes you have a really sore throat, similar to strep. And it makes you congested, run a fever, have diarrhea, and throw up. I have all of those. They have to keep an eye on me. If my fever doesn't go away in a couple of days I have to go back because it can turn into pneumonia.
-
Daddy had to stay home from work because Mommy is sick too. Our house isn't doing very well right now. Oh, did I mention the fridge broke down on Tuesday? A lot of our food went bad, and Mommy hasn't been able to go shopping since. Stay away from us. We are having bad luck!

That's it. No more tests or I am calling Child Services!

Mendon

I decided to spend Valentine's weekend in Mendon. I told Mom and Dad that they could go on a date and I would stay behind and babysit Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandma is teaching me how to use the phone so I can call her.

Howdy Grandpa.

Second Birthday Party!

This turning one thing is great! I got to have another party! Oh, I love cake!
Bring on the presents!
Along with a bank account, Grandma and Grandpa got me my own cell phone so I can call them whenever I want.

Jillian got me a keyboard so I can keep up my practicing.

Brittany got me a Wiggle's DVD. I love it, but Mom thinks it might get annoying.

The One Year Old Birthday Party

In our ward there are six of us turning one within a month of each other. Well, we decided to have a party to celebrate. Mom said she would help me out. So we had a lot of preparing to do to get ready.
First, we had to get decorations. I went with Grandma to pick out some balloons. That was probably the most fun car ride I have ever had!
Next, we had to make and decorate cakes....
Mom, put some frosting right here.

The cakes are frosted and ready to go. I even have drinks for everyone.

Getting Party Ready

With all the cakes made, I needed to hurry and decorate.

Party Play!

I got all my friends a big ball for their birthday present. Grandma took me to the store to pick out what present she should give everyone.... well, I chose a huge caculator! What a perfect present!

Playing toys at the party.
