Red Butte Gardens

On Friday it was free day at Red Butte Gardens. We had never been there before so we wanted to go and check it out. Let me tell you, it was hot hot hot! Luckily I found this nice snake that cooled me off.

It was kind of fun to see all the pretty plants, but in the end we decided that it was just too hot to walk around, so we took a rest on this log.

Train

Great Grandma and Grandpa Nuttall gave me this train because I am obsessed with them right now. Everytime we go on a drive, I sign train over and over again. I just can't get enough!

I love this train! I could stand and watch it for hours! (Don't mind all the junk in the background. We are getting ready to go camping.)

Days of '47 Floats

The floats in the Days of '47 get put on display for a little while, and Mom took me to see them. Mom says it brings back memories when she had to help Grandma and Grandpa make a float for the parade. Phew, what a lot of work.
I really liked the one with the puppy.

Out of all of them though, this BYU one was my favorite!

Flaming Gorge

Almost every year, Mimi's side of the family goes to Flaming Gorge for a reunion.

The only bad thing about going to Flaming Gorge is the drive up there. That is a long ride! Dad was on clean-up, so Mom gave me a powdered doughnut.

Mustang Ridge

While we were at Flaming Gorge, we went swimming at Mustang Ridge. I was content just to sit on the side, play in the mud, and put my feet in.

Aspen and Dad went out swimming.........

...... and after awhile I thought that looked like fun and joined them.

This is the sign that I make for trains. Do you see any in the water? I have been obsessed with them since I saw them on the drive.

Dog Cousins

This is Shadow. He got to come to Flaming Gorge too.

I like Shadow because he is just the right size to take for a walk. However, I think Shadow knows I am just a little guy too and doesn't mind me all too well.

Fish

I am learning all types of sign language. I have learned to sign "fish" so I was excited to see one up close.

Aunt Nancy was a really good sport and held me while I looked at it forever.

Ducks Vs. Aspen

On Green's Lake

We stayed in the Aspen Lodge cabins that are by Green's Lake. Dad took me out in the kayaks. I thought that was fun to chase Mom (who was in the other kayak) around on the lake.

It is nice to sit by the lake and relax.

Aspen loves swimming!

Cousins at Flaming Gorge

Flaming Gorge was great because my cousins were there. Here Livie and Amy are singing to everyone. I thought it looked fun and wanted to join in.

Claire is fun to play with. She likes to throw rocks too.

Our Little Cabin

While we were at Flaming Gorge we stayed in a little cabin.

Since I refused to take a nap, I got some quiet time in by watching Baby Signing Time.

Aspen also needed a break from chasing ducks and swimming.

Okay, I know this picture is blurry. But if you look closely, I have two pacifiers in my mouth and one in each hand. I was running around making all types of noises.

While you are camping you don't have to use plates. You can eat right off the table.

Evanston

A one year old can only sit in the car for so long. So on our way to and back from Flaming Gorge we stopped at an elementary school and played at the park.

Even Aspen joined in the fun.

I am rolling down the hill here.

Liberty Park Fountains

Mom is sure trying to wear me out this summer. Today she took me to play in the fountains at Liberty Park. It was a lot of fun. I was so proud of myself for putting my feet in the water.

Park Lunches

Salt Lake County gives free lunches to kids at parks during the summer. Mom takes me there quite a bit. Sometimes my friends come with, other times the two of us just go. It is really fun to get outside and play. I always make a new friend or two.

The best thing about the lunches is that you get chocolate milk. It is the only way that I drink milk. I was really nice the other day and offered a seagull some.

Andy and Mandie's Wedding

Here I am on my way to the Homestead where my Uncle Andy is going to get married! I am pretty excited about it!

Oh, aren't they cute? Mandie sure looks pretty!

Here is my new auntie!
